Only a few more days before the hallways and classrooms are flooded with Mesa students! I hope your family has had the opportunity this summer to relax and enjoy each other! I have had a great but busy summer and am ready to welcome the kids back on August 12th!
I hope that you have taken the time to subscribe to this blog. You can subscribe by entering your email address in the box to the right. This way you will receive these blog updates right to your email and you won’t have to keep checking back. The purpose of my principal blog is to keep parent and students updated on the important issues and events at Mesa, Douglas County School District and education in general. Thank you, in advance, for taking the time to stay informed!
I realize that many of you did not receive my introduction letter at the end of last school year so let me introduce myself to you. This will be my first year as the principal of Mesa Middle School. I have been a principal in our feeder area for the past 12 years at South Ridge Elementary and Sage Canyon Elementary. Prior to that I was an Assistant Principal at South Ridge and Castle Rock Elementary. I was a classroom teacher for 11 years prior to going into administration. My family has lived in Castle Rock for the past 21 years and I am proud to call myself a Colorado native! My husband Tedd and I have 2 beautiful daughters, a son in-law and a grandson. Our youngest daughter will be leaving for her freshman year of college in a couple of weeks so we will be entering the new “empty nester” phase of our lives very soon.
I am certainly not the only new face that you will see at Mesa this year. We welcome many new staff members who are very energetic and excited to meet your children! These new teachers are already focused on preparing an instructional environment and program that is engaging and relevant to your children’s lives.
Don’t forget that student check-in is on Tuesday, August 6th! I hope to meet many of you in person! I look forward to working with you throughout the year to make your child’s 2013-14 school year a positive and engaging experience.
